working at my wife’s library and there are three high school kids sitting together. they have the look of misfits, and every fourth word is a curse. rebellious and taking their outloud musings overly seriously, as if the decisions they make sitting in their easy chairs is life or death. hard not to smirk.

i popped out an earbud to listen more closely. they’re arguing over whether Contra has the right kind of run and gun gameplay for the rpg they’re designing. or maybe Shovel Knight is a better model?

seriously, if this is the kind of misfits we’re producing in 2024, i have some major fucking hope for future civilization.
