@stux If you change the environment then yes, some people will leave ... but they're the ones you *want* to leave, and they will be replace by more of the people you want to be present.

Like the time we decided it was time people started dancing in one particular room at a party. We replaced the quiet folk music by louder pop music. The people who were standing round having quiet conversations left in disgust ... and were replaced in due course by lots of people who wanted to dance. [There were other places in the building for quiet chatting, those people weren't displaced very far.]
