Note: CIVILIAN. Not a war target. Being in the way of warfare does NOT result in civilian status and the resulting protection obligations. Only if a civilian takes direct part in the armed combat do they cease being civilians. Driving or sitting in a car is not by any definition taking direct part in combat.
