Talks officially re-started Tuesday between the US Maritime Association (USMX) and the International Longshoremen’s Association over the labor agreement covering over 40,000 dockworkers on the US East and Gulf Coasts.

For the 9th year running there's been a £multi-billion outflow from funds with a UK focus.
As the FTSE continues to 'under-perform' relative to other indices investors are moving money, mostly to passive globally focussed funds (often excluding the UK).
Certainly, one might argue that such portfolio investment is beside the point, but it impacts on the ability to raise initial investments (due to projections of returns)!
Ha ha, yes its my student picture from registering for a ten week course on plastering last night, which turned out to be the best photo anyone's taken of me for years....
Every day when I check the news it feels more and more as though the effect of Brexit was to separate the UK from the safety of the pack. Alone and wounded the country feels increasingly prey to the predators and hyenas. Musk is a hyena. This week’s attacks feel like a rather brutal lesson in how the world has changed. We are not the only prey but we feel especially vulnerable.
@christineburns Let’s be more specific than “Musk is a hyena”. “Musk is Ed the Hyena”.
@christineburns@ChrisMayLA6 So cash goes away. Then the Tory government of 2035 decrees anyone supporting trans rights is a terrorist. The banks refuse to serve anyone labelled a terrorist by the government. The only way you can pay for food is via an account issued by a bank. So that’s the problem… even if it’s inconvenient we must do whatever we can to ensure that cash remains an option.
Interestingly Viviana Zelizer has some interesting things to say about how the 'envelope budgeting' logic has survived even into more cashless situation (which I think would confirm your experience) - if you've not read her economic sociology, its interesting stuff
yes, the latter point is right; although, of course, part of the yield rise is a reflection of a slight uptick in the assessment off risk (not a serious change of sentiment though)
Hmm.... have done a couple of years of online learning both as tutor/lecturer & as a mature student, I really don't think that's the answer.... especially for school students, there's many social & educative advantages from the 'warehousing' model, not least direct & physical access to teaching staff, as well as socialisation effects.

How badly to investors view the UK?
