Thoughts on moving to a more area ...

Like many, we moved out of the city because of . We have 2.5 acres, lots of wildlife, and easy access to awesome outdoors activities. Last night after I logged off, I hopped in the truck w/ my fishing kayak, caught three trout, and was back in two hours. If we want to head into town, it's just 25 minutes away.

We meet people three ways: Walking with our dog, dropping off/picking up kids at the school bus stop, and social events that neighbors host.

The irony is that it's easier to approach and talk to people here because people don't have their guard up like you need to do in the city. When you're in an urban area, you generally want to be careful about who you interact with.

I rode the bus into downtown Seattle and Bellevue for 15 years. I used to play chess in Westlake Park during my lunch breaks (see photo). Yeah, I miss some of those old times. But a lot of what I liked is gone now.

Generally, rural areas will be more conservative. I'm fine with people holding stupid opinions. I don't need to agree with them, but I can treat them like people and more than just their politics.

If you can, I recommend making the move. I think it's good for society to have more diverse opinions in .
