@ai6yr Just to pile on to the wind discussion, my wife is waiting to hear today whether she will be teaching tomorrow.

The district is *annoyed* that SDG&E keeps shutting off the power. There are some safety issues with trying to hold school without power but there are larger personnel issue with teachers losing childcare, so simply having backup power at the school won't help.

Communities can budget for snowplows to keep schools open in all but extreme cases. They had better figure this out.
