I got my first filtered notification

With the Mastodon upgrade 4.3.0 notifications from servers that have been limited by your admin/mod team can still reach you

The default setting is filtered, but you can change that to accept (no filter) or ignore (the notification doesn't reach you) if you prefer

In filtered mode you can delete without reading the post or mute, block or report the user. You can also read the post & accept it if you want

If you receive spam in filtered notifications it means your admin/mod team are aware this server is sending spam & it's totally okay to delete, mute or block the user without reporting it
