Karen Bass reduced the LAFD budget by $18 million. LAFD Fire Chief Crowley repeatedly told her that would affect disaster response. Bass told her they didn't have the money after allocating an additional $10 billion to the police. $18 million is 0.18% of what was allocated to the police. A tiny fraction of their budged increase could have fully funded the Fire Department. Karen Bass is responsible for every life lost in these fires directly. This is beyond incompetence, its corruption. Why does every person that gets elected to that office do the same exact shit? We need government officials like a moose needs a hat rack. If we made these decisions ourselves, this would never happen.
